This blog was started in 2009 to chronicle my life as I trained for my first half-marathon. Its previous tagline was “What comes after that is anybody’s guess.” And I’m still trying to figure that out. I tried a full marathon in 2011 but that didn’t work — mostly due to training issues over a very hot summer and the fact that I flew to Germany to run the damn thing, without ever figuring in 7 hours of jet lag. In 2012, 2013 and 2014, it was injuries or work that intervened between me and my first full marathon. FINALLY, in 2016, at the age of 60, I did it! Then I decided to try duathlons and Spartan races, doing my first of each in 2018.
So now we’ll see what happens after that….
